UK reviews approach to issuing animal test certificates for veterinary medicines

27 February, 2015

The UK Veterinary Medicines Directorate has openned a public consultation for review of Veterinary Medicines Guidance Note No 6 - Animal Test Certificates. The VMD aims to reduce burden to industry by permitting a blood sample to be taken at the start of a trial providing it is undertaken for the benefit of the health of the veterinary client-owned animals. It is intended to implement the changes in April 2015.

Update 12Mar15: Following feedback from stakeholders, the VMD has extended the deadline for comments to Friday 24 April 2015.
