VMD publishes Guidance on the Import Certificate Scheme and Manufacturing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicines

Import Certificates

Guidance on how to apply for a certificate to import a Veterinary Medicine into the UK has been published by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (Link). Import certificates are issued by the VMD to maintain a full audit trail of medicinal products permitted to enter the UK for veterinary use.

Manufacturing Authorisation

In accordance with GMP, manufacturers are now required to apply for a manufacturing authorisation. The VMD has provided guidance on how to apply (Link).
