UK announces extension to Brexit deadline for regulatory actions, but no similar proposals from the EU

UK extension to Brexit deadline for veterinary medicines regulatory actions
14 April, 2020

The UK Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has announced that Marketing Authorisation Holders will be given at least 1 year after the end of the Brexit transition period i.e 1 year after 31 December 2020, to complete any required actions relating to UK marketing authorisations (Link). More updates will follow later this year.

Brexit updates from the EU

Meanwhile, no extension of the transition period deadline has been announced for any changes required for EU marketing authorisations. In March, the European Commission and the EMA updated their guidance to reflect the implications of the withdrawal agreement.
