ECHA published guidance on Brexit and PIC

5 March, 2019 to 15 March, 2019

The European Chemicals Agency ECHA has published guidance for companies that export hazardous chemicals to the UK that are subject to the PIC regulation.

According to the PIC regulation exports of hazardous chemicals have to be notified 35 days before the expected date of transport. If there is no withdrawal agreement between the UK and the EU a procedure is made available that allows EU27-based exporters to notify the export prior to the withdrawal date.

The guidance document is found on the ECHA website: https://echa.europa.eu/de/-/how-to-notify-pic-exports-to-the-uk-after-uk-s-withdrawal-from-the-eu?utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=social%20&utm_campaign=brexit
