Correction of German antimicrobial usage statistics for 2015

21 September, 2016

Following some necessary corrections to the data originally published by the BVL, the report on veterinary use of antimicrobials in Germany from 2014 to 2015 has been updated. The total volume of antibiotics released fell by 433 tonnes (35%) during this period. The quantity of antibiotics used which have particular importance for humans has fallen slightly.

Further details, including statistics on quantities administered by class of antimicrobials, can be found (German language only) on the BVL website (Link).
